I commissioned Nick to help me with a dispute I had with a builder regarding the structural integrity of a recently constructed retaining wall along the side of my property. Nick performed a survey and wrote a report which was sufficiently comprehensive to secure a full refund of costs from the builder, thereby saving me the trouble and expense of seeking a recovery through the Courts. I appointed Nick to provide a structural engineer report on a property I was purchasing. The property was an end of terrace house that had wall tie bars installed some years ago due to evidence of bowing previously. I instructed Nick to provide his assessment on their adequacy. He was able to inspect and provide his report swiftly & his review gave me the assurance needed to proceed with the purchase.

My first experience of Nick Cooke was some years back now when I wanted to remove two chimney breasts from a terraced house but my neighbour was pretty intransient in providing consent for a party wall agreement.Nick suggested a solution that allowed the chimney breast to be removed without interfering with the party wall but instead having a steal beam resting on the front and rear wall to support the weight of the remaining chimney stack. Since then I have continued to use his services for various projects.As others have remarked he is very affable and a pleasure to work with.
